Time check: 8:12 a.m
B’Dazzles track meet begins in about 15 minutes. Oh how I wanted to sleep in this morning, especially since today is a rest day.
Yesterday I was beat up from a week of intense weight training. I woke up feeling sore and achey. My trainer thought it best that I take the day off because my muscles need to recover.
Today is the two week mark from show time, but there is still time to further develop muscles. This period for me is like running 15 miles with two miles remaining.
You don’t coast, you shift gears, gain momentum and kick it out with all that you’ve got.
Track meets are long days… VERY long! Although I’m not weight training or doing cardio today, my diet is critical at this juncture.
I have always preached to my children about preparation and it’s connection to success. Success, whatever it <emmeans to you, isn’t about random luck, or being in the right places at the right time. I believe that making the day-to-day commitments and sacrifices by any means necessary prepares and readies one for such entity’s as a run of luck or unexpected opportunity.
Supporting B’Dazzle at his track meet, means sitting at the track all day… 7:30 a.m to 4:00 p.m. or later…
For me that mean food prep and major packing. So… After working yesterday, I ran a few errands then headed to the gym to do back. After the gym. I went home, ate dinner, started laundry, and began cooking and packing meals for today.
Yesterday, 4:30 a.m. I started my day… I finally climbed into bed at 10:45 p.m. Was I exhausted? Absolutely!!!!! Ugh! But– I am prepared for today!
Coolers in hand. Spoons, forks, oats, water, shakes, veggies, chicken, and more. That’s the only way I know how to roll!!
Luck without preparation just ain’t gonna work out.
Since I am straight for the day. I can focus my attention on B’Dazzle’s track meet. Woop! Woop!! We just took a 1st in the 4 x 100 relay!!!
It’s gonna be a good one! Happy Saturday!
Have a great day and enjoy the sunshine!!
